The Giisook Council held its official launch to the community on June 26th, 2025. At the official launch, MC’d by Maurice Switzer, they had speakers from elder Lorraine Liberty, TASSC (Toronto Aboriginal Support Service Council), MP Pauline Rochefort, Maggie Horsfield, and all council members (North Bay Indigenous Hub, True Self, North Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre, Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services, North Bay Metis Council, Endaayaan Awejaa, Niijaansinaanik, and Canadore First Peoples Centre).
